PA CareerLink® Luzerne/Schuylkill Counties’ Courses to Careers (C2C) Program has partnered with Wilkes-Barre-based wellness company studio BE! The C2C Program seeks to connect recent graduates who have obtained a degree, license, or post-secondary education certificate with paid internships in their field. To better prepare participants for managing workplace stress, they have access to studio BE’s online portal of resources. In addition to the portal, participants have been working with studio BE instructor, Joe Longo, through a series of live training sessions.
These training sessions have provided participants with in-depth resilience and steadiness practices. Read below for our interview with Joe to learn more about his story and how to apply mindfulness while searching for work.

Q: How did you begin your journey with mindfulness?
A: “It all started unknowingly from my high school football coach teaching me visualization. It then came back later in life when I was experiencing tremendous stress in my old profession of Informational Technology.”
Q: What types of courses do you teach at studio BE?
A: “I teach Kundalini Yoga which is a style of yoga to connect us to our energy and our creative power within. I also teach all kinds of meditation that are accessible for everyone.”
Q: What do you appreciate most about studio BE’s services?
A: “The teachers and the amount of amazing content that is at our fingertips.”
Q: What advice do you have for job seekers feeling overwhelmed by their job search?
A: “Come back to your breath, and visualize and feel into the perfect job. Our minds are powerful and work best when in a calm, relaxed state. So, always come back to the breath and daydream your perfect job, and keep applying and going after them.”
