Finding work in your field after graduation can feel like an insurmountable challenge. You might have anxiety about paying back student loans, finding open positions in your area, or preparing for interviews.
To help recent graduates overcome these challenges, PA CareerLink® Luzerne/Schuylkill Counties has launched a new initiative called Courses to Careers (C2C). This program seeks to connect recent graduates who have obtained a degree, license, or post-secondary education certificate with paid internships in their field.
The PA CareerLink® team understands that the transition from the classroom to the workplace can feel overwhelming. This is why C2C is partnering with Wilkes-Barre-based wellness company studio BE! All participants in the C2C program will have access to the studio BE online platform as a tool to practice mindfulness and steadiness during this unique transition period.
Not only do C2C participants get to explore the content across studio BE’s online platform, they will be able to attend a series of live workshops via Zoom curated specifically for the C2C program. Instructor Joe Longo led the first live session on Virtual Fatigue and Stress. He guided the class through healthy and unhealthy methods to cope with stress. Participants and staff took time to reflect on their own stressors, practice deep breathing exercises, and unwind their minds. Everyone left the workshop feeling centered and refreshed!
The next live session will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m.
