Financial Incentives
Financial incentives include the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, On-the-Job Training and Tax Credits for Accessibility Barrier Removal.

  • Work Opportunity Tax Credit
  • The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit to encourage employers to hire job-seeekers from any of the 10 targeted groups. The one-year credit can reduce an employer's federal tax liability by up to $2,400 for each new hire.
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT)
  • Through PA CareerLink at Hazleton, employers can take advantage of the highly successful On-the-Job Training (OJT) program. The program assists with the costs of training new employees; up to 90 percent of new full-time employees' wages during the initial trial period may be reimbursed for qualifying employees. On-the-job training (OJT) has been proven to be one of the most successful means of training new employees in the skills and performance levels required. It also assists employers in adding to their workforce without having to worry about increased expenses from supervisory time and lost productivity.
  • Tax Credits for Accessibility Barrier Removal
  • Tax breaks are available for hiring those with disabilities and for improving access to facilities. Improved access can also allow employees to better do their job and and customers with disabilities to conduct business better.
